Tree City USA
Village of Mackinaw – Tree City USA
The Village of Mackinaw is proud to be recognized as a Tree City USA community through the Arbor Day Foundation. This designation reflects Mackinaw’s ongoing commitment to responsible urban forestry, environmental stewardship, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
As a Tree City USA member, the Village meets four core standards:
-
Maintaining a Tree Board or Department
-
Having a community tree care ordinance
-
Investing annually in local tree care and maintenance
-
Celebrating Arbor Day and promoting tree education
Through these efforts, Mackinaw works to preserve and expand its tree canopy, providing benefits such as cleaner air, improved water quality, energy savings, wildlife habitat, and a more beautiful community.
The Village encourages residents to take part in caring for and planting trees to help keep Mackinaw healthy, vibrant, and green for future generations.
