Waste Removal and Recycling

Garbage and curbside recycling service is provided by the Village of Mackinaw for residents who live within the Village limits. The Village of Mackinaw is currently in a contract with GFL Environmental, Inc. and they are the only provider for residential customers. Current cost of garbage per month is $19.00 and will be billed on your water/sewer bill.  Curbside recycling is offered at no additional cost for customers who are billed for garbage through the Village of Mackinaw.

Heritage Lake residents must contract their own garbage service. 

The Village of Mackinaw provides recycling bins located behind Casey’s.  Plastic, cardboard, paper, and newspaper are accepted at this location.

Annually the Village of Mackinaw does a bulk cleanup day.  This is typically done in the spring.  Dates will be posted in the events section of the website.
